Comments on October 2003
October was cooler than expected, particularly at night. The mean air temperature was the lowest October figure since 1994.

October was a relatively sunny month, and total hours of bright sunshine for the year remain well above average. It was the sunniest October since 1998.

Only 0.4mm rainfall was recorded during the month. This suggests a fault with the gauge and I will hope to report in due course when we have investigated.
